Thundering Hooves Stud
The Gypsy Cob was bred by the Romani over many generations to pull their vardoes (caravans). They were bred to be strong but versatile. The Romani looked not only for specific colour, profuse feather, and greater bone, but also for increased action and smaller size.
Their Cob's went from working horses during the day to "babysitter's" of an evening. The horses were expected to be quiet enough that the Romani children would be capable of handling them from an early age.
Now the colour, feather and temperament of the Gypsy Cob is found extremely desirable by riders across the world. They are a great allround family horse and are docile from birth meaning that a lot of the things that most other horses spend months being trained in a Gypsy handles in their stride.
We are just a small stud starting out based on 2 dreams. Father's dream of owning a draught horse and revisiting his childhood of having working heavy horses pulling the ploughs etc
And daughters dream of owning a coloured stallion.
We are aiming to produce quality Drum horses and heavy coloured sporthorses.
